What is the difference between CAT A & CAT B fit-outs?
For those not familiar with the terms CAT A & CAT B fit-out, CAT A fit-out is the basic operational fit-out that takes a space from shell and core to an empty space ready to let to tenants.

CAT A FIT-OUTS
Work on a CAT A fit-out contractor will usually undertake work on behalf of a landlord and include subfloor/computer access floor, functional lighting, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, suspended ceilings, essential fire detection, and toilets.
CAT B FIT-OUTS
A CAT B fit-out adds additional details to a space to make it functionally functional and is designed to occupiers’ unique specifications to make it their own. A CAT B fit-out contractor will usually undertake work on behalf of a tenant, including feature lighting, planting, furniture, partitions and doors, acoustics, IT infrastructure, amendments to existing mechanical and electrical installation, kitchens and teapoints, floor finishes, branding and decor.
