CAT A Fit-Outs

What is the difference between CAT A & CAT B fit-outs?

For those not familiar with the terms CAT A & CAT B fit-out, CAT A fit-out is the basic operational fit-out that takes a space from shell and core to an empty space ready to let to tenants.

CAT A FIT-OUTS

A CAT A fit-out contractor will usually undertake work on behalf of a landlord and include subfloor/computer access floor, functional lighting, air conditioning, ventilation, plumbing, suspended ceilings, essential fire detection, and toilets.

CAT B FIT-OUTS

A CAT B fit-out adds additional details to a space to make it functionally functional and is designed to occupiers’ unique specifications to make it their own. A CAT B fit-out contractor will usually undertake work on behalf of a tenant, including feature lighting, planting, furniture, partitions and doors, acoustics, IT infrastructure, amendments to existing mechanical and electrical installation, kitchens and teapoints, floor finishes, branding and decor.

CAT A fit-out contractor services

CAT A fit-outs are often seen as a blank canvas. We offer this service for landlords looking to prepare space for sale or rental. Our experienced team of mechanical, electrical and fit-out contractors will provide a fuss-free quality finish at competitive rates. We understand that time is of the essence and that a swift turnaround of a CAT A fit-out is required to maximise profits and entice renters. If a tenant moves out we can offer a delaps (decapitation) survey and repair service to prepare the space back to CAT A for the next occupier.

Interior design

Our interior designers, with the support of the M&E team, can design a specification to suit your needs. In addition, we are happy to provide a complimentary conceptual space plan to show potential tenants how the layout of the CAT B fit-out can look in the space.
