Job Title: Apprentice Administrative Assistant
This is a 12-month apprenticeship; however, the successful candidate may be offered full time employment on completion of the apprenticeship

Required Hours 39 hours per week: 08:00 to 17:00 Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 16:00 Friday
With 1-hour lunch

Primary Responsibilities: Assisting and working in conjunction with other members of the team, the administrative assistant role will consist of:

  1. Answer incoming telephone calls in a polite and professional manner and, managing the call forwarding to the internal department personnel.
  2. Raise purchase orders on JNC for Truline Operatives– training will be given.
  3. Provide a welcoming first point of contact for visitors to the Truline Offices, ensuring that visitors sign in at reception and sign out when they leave.
  4. Provide general administrative support to the team, e.g: Microsoft Office 365, Photocopying, word documents, laminating and filing.
  5. General administrative duties.

Qualifications and Skills :

Qualifications Educated to a minimum of GCSE Maths and English – Grade C or above.

Currently studying Business/Administration at College- Not essential

Job Title: Plumbing/Heating Engineer

Location: Challenge Way, Martland Park, Wigan WN5 0LD

Required Hours: Monday – Friday. 07.30am to 4.30pm
On Call rota [ 1 week in 4 ] is an essential element for which an enhancement is paid

Primary Responsibilities: Undertaking Maintenance and Interior fit out works to specifications and drawings along witha small team of operatives on site to a value of £1k-£50k

  1. Within and lead a team of plumbers/mechanical heating engineers and subcontractors as and when necessary
  2. Ensure all the team are health and safety compliant
  3. Liaise with Contract Managers on site to resolve issues as and when they arise, offering practical and cost effective solutions

Qualifications and Skills: Qualifications

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 / 3 Plumbing/heating qualification or similar
  • Gas Safe registered, Domestic / Commercial
  • 2 year Post qualification experience


Desirable:

  • Water Industry Approved Plumbing Scheme (WIAPS) certification
  • Legionella and ACOP L8 Awareness
  • SSSTS / SMSTS
  • CSCS
  • First Aid
  • PASMA

Job Title: Site Supervisor

Required Hours: Mon – Fri 07.30am -4.00pm
Job Objective: The Site Supervisor is expected to assume overall control of a particular site. Providing utmost professional support to the Contracts Manager, the Site Supervisor is charged with the effective and efficient use of company staff, materials and other resources in all areas of contract work in order to produce a Truline product to the highest possible standard, on time and in line with pre-determined cost.

Health & Safety Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand the company safety policy for health & safety and ensure that it is brought to the notice of all employees and relevant persons particularly new starters and young people. Carry out all work in accordance with its requirements and bring to the notice of the ContractsManager any improvements or additions which are felt necessary.
  • Ensure that they are aware of the relevant regulations and sections relating to their operations.
  • Study and understand the relevant health & safety plan and ensure that its provisions are implemented and developed.
  • Ensure that all relevant safety regulations, form F10 and site rules are prominently displayed and maintained in good order.
  • Ensure that all sub-contractors and plant operators are aware of and understand the relevant sections of the health & safety plan, are implementing and developing its provision, are competent to carry out their duties and are observing and completing all checks, registers and statutory documentation.
  • Ensure that all new plant, woodworking, power and cartridge tools are properly commissioned, and operators are adequately trained and able to demonstrate evidence of competence. Ensure that persons who have not attained the age of 18 do not operate any such tools unless under the direct supervision of a trained and competent person.
  • Ensure that all repair and maintenance work carried out on site is done in a proper manner and to attend to all plant defects notified, and ensure dangerous plant and equipment is put out of service until properly repaired.
  • Ensure that the control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH) regulations are strictly adhered to. That data sheets are obtained for substances and materials used, site assessments are carried out as required, and that the precautions, protective clothing and training necessary in the use of these materials are known, available and enforced by those affected.
  • Ensure that operational risk assessments, method statements and tool box talks are carried out as necessary and that any training or protection identified is provided. Ensure that the safe working systems established are communicated to the relevant personnel and adhered to.
  • Ensure that the provision of all scaffolding assesses the need for an appropriate scaffold design.Carryout weekly site safety inspections as required by the company procedures to assist and co-operate
  • with the company H&Sadvisor conducting inspection and to take any remedial action found necessary.
  • Hospitably receive and co-operate with the HSE, reporting to them all major accidents and dangerous occurrences notifiable by law.
  • Report to the group Company H&S advisor, contracts manager or appropriate line manager all accidents, incidents, near misses, dangerous occurrences, non-conformances, and notifiable diseases and seek to prevent re-occurrence of such incidents.
  • Deliver appropriate tool box talks at regular intervals throughout the duration of the project in accordance with the company requirements
  • Ensure that company procedures in respect of temporary electrical installations and inspections are fully adhered to.
  • Ensure where applicable all permit systems (e.g. Hot work(s)) are implemented and complied with.
  • Attend monthly site safety meetings when required.
  • Ensure fire and evacuation procedures are in place and implemented.
  • Ensure small plant, tools, equipment and PPE are being used correctly.
  • Demonstrating commitment to effective control of health & safety issues through personal example   

Operational Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure a consistently high standard of work is produced in accordance with specification and quality standards through regular quality
    inspections with in house trades & sub-contractors.
  • Direct and supervise day to day operations of in house trades & sub-contractors ensuring appliance of common operational procedures.
  • Ensure material requisitions are issued in adequate time to achieve the Construction Programme.
  • Schedule, control and monitor all plant and materials on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure all work is completed to programme whilst not compromising on quality or the budget.
  • Liaise with Contracts Manager/Project Manager, Site Manager/Agent, and Contract Surveyor regarding cost control, waste management, variations and confirmation of instructions.
  • Maintain quality and environmental control procedures in accordance with ISO 9001and ISO 14001.
  • Create and maintain good relations with clients, design teams and neighbours as well as any other stakeholders.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of projects to enable traceability and compliance.
  • Fulfil the role of Mentor as and when required.
  • Control and monitor site waste in accordance with the Company’s Site Waste Minimisation and Management policy.
  • Identify and manage any problems or delays in progress:
  • Prepare weekly progress reports for the project manager:
  • Manage communication between all parties on site to effect work smoothing between trades;
  • Ensuring production targets are met whilst not compromising on quality or the budget of the contract. Ability to monitor and control costs in relation to site progress &programme:
  • Lead/Motivate/Communicate with/Develop / Appraise and performance manage staff to ensure staff are fully motivated to achieve best performance for Company needs including recommendation of gaining requirements.
  • Promotion f employee relations. inclusion. team-working. and harmony between colleagues:
  • Effective daily use of Company information systems, email, and databases: including Population of company daily site diary with relevant information
  • Supporting the see team to ensure high levels of customer and client
    satisfaction.
  • Investigation of customer complaints and timely resolution

Responsible to: Commercial Manager

Job Description: Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will undertake a full range of estimating functions of pre-contract principal contractor duties. You will rate the build-up of works (either brand new, fit out or refurbishment) of a variety of projects. You will be responsible for managing all estimations for works, including sub-contractor enquiries for tendering, analysis of comparisons in all areas of the supplychain to ensure the most competitive tender sum.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Rate build-up of works associated with various trades associated with Interior fit out, Refurbishment and minor works projects.
  2. Proven track record and knowledge-based skill-sets associated with sectors, such as Commercial, Industrial, Education, Health, Fit-Out,Maintenance and Refurbishment.
  3. Management of subcontractor enquiries for tendering and undertake analysis and comparisons on the supply chain to ensure best value within a competitive market.
  4. Preparation of internal BQ preparation, compilation of schedule of works, pricing the site-specific preliminaries and working to contractor’s programme of works for the most competitive tender sum.
  5. Successful winning of works for the business and demonstrating accuraterecord keeping for handover to the Commercial and Operations teams.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Estimating experience gained from a Principal Contracting/Subcontracting background
  • Detailed compilation of estimate record keeping
  • Experience of computer aided software and the use of Microsoft Office 365
  • At least 4 years estimating experience – Preferable but not essential
  • Excellent knowledge of construction, materials and technology
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
